1. Scope and contracting party
These Terms of Service apply to all agreements between UnitedLang, owner George Mikhail, Alte Regensburger Str. 28a, 84030 Ergolding, Germany ("UnitedLang", "we", or "us"), and users of the UnitedLang web application (the "Service").
By creating an account, expressly accepting these Terms, or using the Service, you agree to them. Individual agreements and mandatory statutory provisions take precedence.
2. Service description
UnitedLang provides automated live audio translation. Depending on the selected mode, the Service converts spoken audio into translated captions, translated audio, transcripts, recordings, or related session data.
Machine-generated translations can contain errors. UnitedLang supports multilingual access but is not a certified interpreting service and is not suitable as the sole source of information in legal, medical, emergency, safety-critical, or similarly high-risk situations.
3. Registration and user accounts
An active account may be required for hosting a session. Registration information must be accurate and complete. You are responsible for keeping credentials confidential and for activity performed through your account.
You must notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized access. We may refuse, restrict, or suspend an account where reasonably necessary to protect the Service, other users, or third parties, or to address a breach of these Terms. Users must be at least 16 years old.
4. Rights and acceptable use
For the duration of the agreement, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
- use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, hateful, abusive, or infringing content;
- compromise security or availability, introduce malicious code, bypass access controls, or conduct unauthorized monitoring;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service except where the law expressly permits it;
- scrape, harvest, or bulk-download content or data without permission;
- resell, sublicense, or embed the Service in another commercial offering without a separate written agreement; or
- process another person’s personal data without a valid legal basis.
5. Audio, recordings, and consent
You are responsible for having the rights and lawful basis needed to capture, transmit, translate, record, share, or otherwise process audio and other content. This includes informing speakers and attendees and obtaining consent where required by data-protection, copyright, personality, employment, or communications law.
Recording laws differ by country and setting. UnitedLang does not determine whether consent is required for your session and does not provide legal advice.
6. Prices, billing, and credits
Paid usage is billed at the price shown when you order. Usage may be measured by input-audio duration and paid using credits, subscriptions, or another offered billing method. Taxes and billing details are shown before purchase.
Credits are assigned to the purchasing account, are not transferable, and have no cash value. Unless mandatory law or the purchase terms require otherwise, used credits and services already performed are not refundable.
7. Consumer right of withdrawal
Consumers generally have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal. For digital content or services supplied before that period ends, the right of withdrawal may expire or the consumer may owe a proportionate amount only where the statutory requirements are met, including the consumer’s express request or consent and acknowledgement of the relevant consequence.
The checkout information and any withdrawal instructions presented at the time of purchase form part of the agreement and prevail where they provide more specific consumer information.
8. AI-generated output
Translations, transcripts, synthesized speech, and other automated output may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, or inappropriate. You remain responsible for reviewing output and deciding whether and how to use it. Output is not legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.
9. Availability and third-party services
We work to keep the Service available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, network conditions, audio quality, device limitations, or third-party providers may affect results or availability. No service level applies unless agreed in writing.
We may update, improve, restrict, or discontinue features where reasonably necessary. Preview and experimental features may change or be withdrawn at any time.
10. Intellectual property and user content
The Service, software, designs, trademarks, and UnitedLang content belong to us or our licensors. No rights are granted except the right to use the Service under these Terms.
You retain your rights in content you provide. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to process, transcode, cache, transmit, and display that content only as needed to provide, secure, and support the Service.
11. Data protection
Personal data is processed as described in our Privacy Policy. When an organization uses UnitedLang for its own session, that organization may separately be responsible for participant data and notices.
12. Duration and termination
The agreement runs for an indefinite period unless a selected plan states a fixed term. You may close your account through the available account controls or by contacting support. We may terminate or suspend the agreement for cause, including a serious or repeated breach of these Terms.
Statutory retention duties may require us to retain limited billing or account records after termination. Provisions that by their nature must survive remain in effect.
13. Warranty and liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body, or health, under mandatory product-liability law, and where we have expressly given a guarantee. For slight negligence affecting an essential contractual obligation, liability is limited to typical, foreseeable damage. Otherwise, liability for slight negligence is excluded to the extent permitted by law.
You are responsible for reasonable backups of data available for export. The limitations above also apply to our representatives and agents. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms for a valid reason, such as a change in law, the Service, security requirements, or our business model. We will give reasonable notice of material changes. Where consent is legally required, the change will not take effect without it.
15. Final provisions and contact
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer protections of the country in which a consumer habitually resides remain unaffected. If the user is a merchant, the agreed place of jurisdiction is our registered place of business.
These Terms are available in German and English. If the versions conflict, the German version governs, subject to mandatory law. Contact us at support@unitedlang.com or see the Impressum.
